"Unveil: For the Disenchanted “I Do's" is an album that delves into the shadows beneath the surface of what we normally believe to be that dream of a fairytale wedding. Through haunting melodies and poignant lyrics, it confronts the harsh reality of child marriage, a global epidemic robbing countless young girls of their innocence and future. Each track explores the turmoil, despair, and resilience of those trapped in this cycle of oppression. The design consists of hand illustrations all created in Procreate, including hand done ribbon lettering. Additionally, for this wedding dress in this piece, a scan of the lace from a 1940s wedding dress was used to give the texture shown. The 3D pop up element was also hand illustrated, cut, and measured so that the album can open and close properly, while still allowing for the castle and runaway bride to be highlighted when the album is opened. The colors are dark yet hold a sense of whimsy along with the overall style of the album and a linked Spotify playlist is available to listen to.
